The official unveiling of two new Apple iPhones happened in September as most of you are probably aware. The iPhone 5C and the iPhone 5S are now available to consumers in the USA and other countries. However, the availability of these two new Apple iPhone models in Costa Rica is slated in November. iPhone carriers in the country made the announcement that for consumers outside the United State of America, there will be a 60-day wait. Costa Rican carriers Movistar, Claro, and CIE (Costa Rica Electricity Institute) which is a state-owned company are all keen on providing these new smartphones to their clients.
The man behind the iPhone’ s new look, Vice President of Design, Jonathan Ive called the iPhone 5C “beautifully, unapologetically plastic.” The iPhone 5C has long been the subject of speculation and excitement. The going price for the iPhone 5C in America is around $99. The 16 GB model will be out on the shelves by September 20, 2013. The 32 GB model on the other hand costs more at $199. Pre-ordering starts on the 13th of September.
Consumers would have to pay $29 for smartphone cases which come in the same color as the unit. The iPhone’s polycarbonate back now come in exciting new colors, which are blue, green, red, white, and yellow. The primary features of the iPhone 5C are an 8 MO camera, an HD camera, A6 processor, and 3x video zoom camera app. For better Internet access, Apple has equipped the new smartphone model with a dual-band WiFi.
There is much excitement over the iPhone 5S as well. There are three color options for the iPhone 5s—gold, slate gray, and silver. One of the most exciting features of this high-end smartphone is that its processor is reportedly 40 times faster than the first iPhone model that came out. The reason for the increase in speed is the M7 chip. This brand new innovation is designed to conduct a continuous measurement of motion data. The M7 chip is also behind the functions of the compass, accelerometer and the gyroscope.
iPhone fans will also be very happy to know that the iPhone 5S has longer battery life. What this translates to are the following:
- WiFi browsing and LTE good for 10 hours
- 250 hours standby time
- 40 hours of listening to music
Consumers will get all this if they can shell out $199 (16 GB) or more starting on September 20, 2013. All purchases come with a contract, similar to that of the iPhone 5C. Here’s the full price list for US consumers:
- 16 GB model: $199
- 32 GB model: $299
- 64 GB model: $399
Another important upgrade concerns the camera. Upon app launching, the camera has the capacity to determine white balance automatically. There are more pixels, as well as true-tone flash, and bust mode. This smartphone is practically a good enough camera for amateur photographers.
During the announcement, it was revealed that Apple’s latest offers will now have fingerprint sensors on the home button that the smartphone owner can use as a measure of security. According to Jonathan Ive, the fingerprint feature is a smart security pass because no two fingerprints are precisely alike. He explained the virtues of this new addendum in a promotional video. This state-of-the art feature provides 360-degree readability. The sensors detect sub-epidermal skin layers. Touch ID will also be in place.
